Preparations are well underway for the 27th Annual Waste Management Superfeast to be held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2011 outside on the grounds of Houston City Hall, Tranquility Park and Walker Street. Houston City Hall is located at 900 Smith between 400/500 Walker and 400/500 McKinney, Houston, Texas 77002.
At this years’ Waste Management Superfeast, we are expecting 18,000 to 21,000 Thanksgiving dinner guests. Everyone is welcome. Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and the time will be extended if needed. Each guest is welcome to go through the serving lines as many times as he or she would like, no questions asked.
Clothing/Blanket Drive:
Please drop off gently used winter clothes and blankets at 1001 Fannin, Houston, TX 77002 from 8:00-5:00 p.m. in the tunnel location.Waste Management will kick-off their 17 Annual WM Blanket and Clothing Drive. The public is invited to drop-off blankets and good quality used clothing at Waste Management’s Headquarters located at 1001 Fannin at Lamar, in First City Tower at the ground floor lobby. All blankets and clothing will be distributed to the homeless and less fortunate attending the Superfeast on Thanksgiving Day.
In Memory of Tammy Bohon: 1952 - 2011
For over 20 years, Tammy was the Chairman and Event Organizer for the Thanksgiving Houston Superfeast. Tammy passed away quietly on Friday, June 24, 2011 after a battle with cancer. Tammy’s enthusiasm, warm smile and giving heart will be greatly missed.

Thanksgiving morning -"19th Annual TXU Energy Turkey Trot "-- a 10K, 5K, and Kids Run event benefiting Sheltering Arms.
Volunteers will be needed to help with set-up, registration, water stations, course monitoring, etc. Volunteers report for duty as early as 6 a.m. Minimum age for volunteers = 15 (no minimum if accompanied by adult).

The 22nd Annual Houston Meals for the Elderly (HoME) Program delivers traditional Thanksgiving meals on Thanksgiving Day (11/24/11) to seniors who receive Meals on Wheels.
